Academic and English Language Requirement for Skill Assessment:
Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) is the assessing authority of Teaching occupations. AITSL requires your overseas qualification to be comparable to at least four years full-time (or part-time equivalent) higher education (university) level study in Australia. The qualification must also need to include 45 days of supervised teaching practice. Applicants are also required to satisfy English Language requirement unless they completed a four year course in an English speaking country. AITSL accepts Academic IELTS with a score of 7 in Reading and writing and 8 in Listening and Speaking.
Selecting the right occupation from the outset is the key to the beginning of a successful application process. Teachers could also claim points for overseas work experience. However, it is very important that such experiences are submitted with appropriate documentary evidence.
